Immunizations Required for Seventh Grade

Before starting 7th grade, all students will need to provide proof that they have had the following two immunizations:

#1. A booster dose (after the age of 7 years) of TDaP vaccine, which protects against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough).

#2. The first dose of the meningococcal vaccine (MCV4). This is a two dose series, your child will receive the second dose before their senior year of high school.

If you fail to get your student properly immunized the state of West Virginia will not allow them to attend school. The state of West Virginia does not recognize ethical or religious exemptions.

Please, get your child his or her immunizations early and remember to send a copy of the shot record to the school nurse so that they will not miss their first day of 7th grade.
